WORKS
DISSOLVE, 2010
Metal scrap, rock salt, 600 x 990 x 150 cm

I created this site-specific work at the defunct drive-in theatre at Maker Maxity, Mumbai, which was once among the largest of its kind in Asia. The work was made before the building was to be razed to give way to new constructions. I used a ladder that I found on site and fleshed out its shadow using metal scraps, in the form of a river to allude to the near-by Mithi River. This reference reminds one of the constantly flowing, evolving, and ephemeral state of all forms and constructs, making a larger statement about the cyclical nature of life itself.
